Cuts, Lawsuits and Settlements

January 9, 2007

What constitutes to a lawsuit of negligence? That will result an essay of at least 500 words. In my case, 2 pictures will be enough.
This

and this….

Thankfully no one was hurt, namely me, as I was observant. However what if one was preoccupied and didn’t see the uncovered hole, or just oblivious by nature…

Unfortunately for one of my dear friends, let’s just say she wasn’t that lucky. That picture posted above belongs to her. In a nutshell, she though she was stepping on a turf of grass but it was just a flimsy concealment to a 4 feet deep drain. She fell in and the picture explains the rest.

So the conversation goes like this:
Me: Didn’t you learn from cartoons to avoid suspicious turf and stay on the road. Otherwise the character will plunge into one’s death.
Friend: I don’t watch cartoons.
Me: Not even as a kid?
Friend: No.

Moral of the story: Let your kids saw cartoons. Yes it is ridiculous, but then Murphy’s Law also states that anything can go wrong will go wrong.

Hence learn from cartoons.

Back to the open drain, contractors please be more cautious. My school fee doesn’t need another increment so the bloody campus can use that money to pay off a settlement.

Will she be remembered as a martyr or just dumb?

Think about that
Here’s a good song for it.

This is 2007 and I decided to start this year with a blog. If I am attached, I won’t be doing this. I will be starting the year with a big BANG, a few more during the year and especially the holidays. But since I am single and ONS is not to my advantage (read: physical appearance), I decided to just blog and let my dear friends know how I am living. So here’s to a great start!!!

So today I had a makeup class for one of my Finance modules and my well-experienced prof decided to make us do a presentation on globalised markets with only half hour of preparation. I was going…
